Need some support in practice?
Having a thriving clinical practice can be challenging...patient's may bring issues that are close to home, possibly 'pressing our buttons' at times or they may bring very complex health issues that need extra thought. We are expected to be the specialist practitioner, to hold safe emotional boundaries, to identify possible 'red flags', but also to manage the accounts, the marketing, the media, to keep ourselves physically & emotionally well whilst maintaining patient safety & upholding the reputation of acupuncture as a robust medicine. Why do this alone?I'm very happy to support other practitioners, new graduates & those in early practice.
I’ve been a member of the BAcC for 20 years
I am a registered nurse (35 years) and a member of the Nursing & Midwifery Council too.
I have undergone training in Person Centred Counselling, have supervised & mentored Registered Nurses & ran group work with substance misuse clients as a nurse.
I am a trained teacher with a PGCHE & taught acupuncture at degree level for 15 years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. Here I coached finalist students as part of my module leader role.
I was also an External Examiner for other BAAB / BAcC colleges for 8 years, so am fully aware of the challenges we face in when leaving the 'mother ship' of the college.
I have a current BAcC role as a member of the Investigating Panel for malpractice cases.
I have ongoing supervision with a psychotherapist & have group coaching from a Five Element perspective with Nicholas Haines, (founder of NCA in York.)
Feel free to book an online supervision session (1 hour) using the booking system:
